Workshops, Seminars, and 1-on-1 Learning

NOTE: For PhotoCentral workshops, please try and get set up to register through them, however, if you can't get registered through them, contact me directly and I'll find a way to assist you. I know their system can be confusing, and there are sometimes questions as to whether you can sign up for workshops if you're not a Hayward resident. You can! Thanks!

Redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains - February 11, 2012

Join Joe Decker on magical walks through Henry Cowell State Park's nature trail and the magestic Big Basin Redwoods. Another gem close to home, Big Basin offers an opportunity to experience the worlds largest trees without the long drive to Northern California! The day will include a walk along the stream to Sempervirens falls. This is the best time of year to hope to experience the running water and mystical fog through the trees. Joe will share his expertise in capturing what you see and experience and more!! The day will end with a sunset shoot (light willing!!) at Saratoga Gap. This workshop is being offered through Photocentral, registration is open; tuition will be $125 for residents of the Hayward area, $135 otherwise.

Sunol Wildflowers and Landscapes - March 24, 2012

The Sunol Regional Wilderness is a landscape gem near to home. Join World of color Artist Joe Decker for a magical day of exploration and insights into capturing the magic of the region with your camera. Additional locations may include the oak trees of the Calaveras reservoir and  the architecture around the “water temple”. This workshop is being offered through Photocentral, registration is open; tuition will be $125 for residents of the Hayward area, $135 otherwise.

Carrizo Plain - April 14-15, 2012

The Carrizo Plain sits isolated between the Temblor and Caliante mountains in Central California, and often presents excellent displays of wildflowers among dry white lake beds, abandoned ranch lands and some of the most visible traces of the San Andreas Fault. Encounters with the elusive pronghorn are also possible. Join Joe Decker for two days of exploration of this rarely-visited gem.   This workshop is being offered through Photocentral, registration is open. Tuition is $155, ($10 less for Hayward-area residents).

Point Reyes National Seashore - August 18, 2012

Separated geologically from most of California by the San Andreas fault, Pt Reyes offers a delightful combination of beaches, rocky coastline, flora, a mountain, a lighthouse, ranches and (often) elk, providing a wonderful range of photographic opportunities.  We'll meet at the Point and spend a day working these many locations with a
strategic eye kept to ever-shifting weather conditions common at thePoint.  This workshop is given through PhotoCentral, registration is not yet open.
