Mono Lake by Moonlight: March 2018

Very early spring in the Mono Basin combines the “visual quiet” of winter with longer days and a different quality of light as the planet begins to tilt back toward the sun. Poconip ice fog, ice-covered tufa towers, and warm spring-like days are all possible, combined with the towering Sierra Nevada backdrop, most likely blanketed in snow. Add the rising full moon and opportunities to photograph a snowy landscape by moonlight, and the photographic possibilities are endless.

Registration opens October 1. As always, I recommend becoming a member of the MLC. The Committee has and continues to do amazing work restoring and protecting the Mono Basin. Register by calling (760) 647-6595 or at the MLC seminar registration page.
